Systems Accountant
Isle of Wight

As our business continues to grow and our company operations expand, this new role will ensure that we continually review, improve and document our internal systems and controls, ensuring best practice and compliance with agreed internal audit standards, such as Sarbanes Oxley.

Reporting to our Financial Controller, ideal candidates will be experienced in auditing medium/large businesses and be qualified in, or well advanced with ACA or ACCA.

Job description

Main responsibilities:

• Review, improve and document internal systems and controls.
• Implement best practice financial controls and systems ensuring compliance with SOX based internal audits and reducing business risk.
• Provide a complete and accurate stock valuation at month end.
• Evaluate and monitor key business processes upstream of Finance to promote best practice and reduce risk of financial misstatement.
• Provide training internally within the business to help non-financial staff understand and adopt correct procedures and processes.
• Own and deliver on ad-hoc financial projects as requested.

Experience and skills

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills:

• Qualified or well advanced with ACA or ACCA.
• Experience of auditing medium/large companies.
• Strong Excel skills.
• A high level of integrity to honour the confidentiality of financial data.

You will be:

• A good communicator, both written and verbal.
• Able to implement process change.
• Able to work effectively with non-financial personnel.
• Well versed in evaluating business process and improving controls environments.
