Job description
Main purpose of job:
To lead, manage and develop the team, ensuring that all our customers enjoy a fabulous experience and first class service, offering them accurate product information and advice.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure all customers receive a warm welcome to our area of the store.
- Manage the day to day running of our business in John Lewis.
- Manage and develop our beauty team, conducting performance reviews, setting objectives and development plans.
- Take responsibility for our counter, ensuring standards of product presentation and cleanliness are excellent at all times.
- Use your skincare and product knowledge to give advice and guidance to customers on any skincare or product queries they may have; and offer customers appropriate products to ensure they are receiving the best skincare regime for their skin type.
- Be proactive in developing your skincare and product knowledge and that of the team, ensuring you have up to date information on our products and formulations, as well as being aware of developments within the skincare market.
- Ensure adequate stock levels and that shelves are fully stocked at all times ordering new stock as appropriate.
- Relay daily sales figures to the Management team at the end of each business day.
- Be flexible in taking on any specific tasks within the remit of your role.
Experience and skills
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Previous management and customer service experience in a similar role.
- A genuine interest or background in skincare, beauty therapy of aromatherapy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and coach others.
- Superb communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- A keen eye for detail.
